SciTech

On 14 March 2024, our new cutting-edge science and technology centre was officially opened by former Master Martin Collier and renowned astrophysicist Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell. The state-of-the-art facility has doubled the previous science and technology space, including interconnected teaching and seminar spaces and an outdoor courtyard.

Representing a major advancement in science and technology education, the centre features cutting-edge laboratories for natural sciences, computer science, robotics, VR, AI and design technology. The modern facility aims to enhance pupil learning by providing access to the latest technology and fostering a culture of scientific exploration.

The construction of these innovative spaces prioritises sustainability, with features such as solar panels, green roofs, and eco-friendly materials like cross-laminated timber. This is a big step towards our sustainability goals and aim to become net zero.

Heralding a new era of innovation for current and future Haileyburians, the launch of the SciTech Centre will help foster curiosity and drive discovery at Haileybury. The new buildings will also benefit the local community, with pupils at our partner secondary academy, Haileybury Turnford, able to utilise and experience the facilities.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all donors, special guests, and contributors from across the Community who made this vision a reality and whose generosity is recognised by signage throughout the building.
