From Haileybury to the Wild: Celebrating Katie Stacey (Melvill, 2006) and Her Debut Book No Paradise with Wolves

Old Haileyburian Katie Stacey (Melvill, 2006) has released her debut book, “No Paradise with Wolves” – an inspiring account of how she and her husband transformed a defunct dairy farm in northern Spain into a thriving haven for wildlife.

Blending memoir, nature writing and environmental reflection, Katie’s book chronicles the couple’s journey to rewild their land, known today as Wild Finca, and the lessons they learned about coexistence with nature. In this remarkable story of dedication and discovery, Katie explores what it truly means to live in harmony with the wild.

No Paradise with Wolves” has already earned widespread recognition, recently being named one of BBC Wildlife’s Best Books of 2025 and receiving glowing early praise. Publishers Weekly describes it as “an inspiring story of vision and deep love and connection with the land. Katie and Luke’s inspirational passion for Wild Finca is felt on every page.”

Katie is a talented writer and conservationist, whose work has appeared in leading publications including BBC Wildlife and National Geographic. Her storytelling champions the importance of reconnecting with the natural world and recognising our place within it.
